AAM 2022 CPD3 THE CONTINUUM OF LEARNING IN PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

Course Background:

This webinar follows the professional journey of Theresa Pan, an Australian Architect who is currently a Project Director at Pascall + Watson, a firm specializing in the field of transportation projects headquartered in London, with offices in Ireland and the Middle East.

Theresa started her career designing and delivering high end exclusive residences in Sydney before expanding into schools, libraries and community buildings. She then took the opportunity to expand her experience abroad and worked with Arup Associates in London specializing in façade design and detailing before joining Pascall + Watson where she is currently leading the delivery of a £1 billion transformation programme for Manchester Airport.

It is often a challenge faced by newly qualified architects at the beginning of their professional journey to know the direction in which to pursue their long careers ahead. The role of mentoring in architectural practices is essential for supporting opportunity for growth, and in turn promoting a better quality of service.

At management level, understanding the need for employee growth, support and development within the practice as well as beyond is necessary for the advancement of skills across the whole profession.

The Webinar will follow key stages of development in professional practice. It aims to highlight the lessons in which professional skills are learned, developed, refined, and assimilated. Vignettes into a range of projects in Australia and the UK provide insight into the skills developed over each stage of professional practice.
