Background:

Since 2020, the ongoing pandemic has led to numerous changes in our daily life, countries introduced different measures in controlling the spread of virus. These measures with people around the world continuing to facing constant city lockdown, home confinement, social distancing and restrictions on social gatherings. For some time, increased public space has rapidly becoming a necessity to allow people to escape the confines in a safer and healthier manner .The pandemic is therefore the perfect opportunity for us to rethink, reimagine or to explore the way how we can better equip public spaces to face the challenges of Covid-19 and how communities can use public space, particularly in densely populated cities to respond future public health matters.

This webinar will explore how pandemic induced city model has been evolving, and inconspicuously shifting the way public space is defined, used and responded to our communities.

Norris Au will use her projects to share how Venturo Ilheu studio R&D practice the way public space making, planning and design thinking of urban futurism to rethink and redefine the pandemic era public space and its relationship to architecture and city neighbourhood, followed by and international references and guidelines.

背景：

2020年初新型冠狀疫情大流行在全球肆虐，世界各地城市受到不同程度的影響，各地城市空間的應用和日常生活在不斷地產生變化。在非常時期，各地採用不同的公共衛生措施及政策控制疫情，儘管各地的措施不同，各地在城市公共場所和生活模式上面對著共同的限制，從短暫到恒常化，由封城、家居隔離、社交距離及限聚措施等，人們對戶外空間的使用和渴求，反映城市空间基本需求的明顯改變。後疫情是重新探索公共空間在城市規劃和設計的功能。探索我們的社區和城市公共空間能否發揮，或該如何，從這次公共衛生事件中探索和建立應對未來其他潛在衝擊的能力？對緩解和應對疫情給城市治理、公共管理帶來的影響與衝擊。

是次持續進修課堂將主要分為兩部份：將探索公共空間在城市未來的空間屬性功能、規模形式和規劃設計如何回應後疫情時代城市治理、公共管理帶來的挑戰。

後疫情城市公共場所的屬性功能和模式在形成著一個新模式和轉變。後疫情時代的城市主義需要重新探索公共空間在城市規劃和設計的功能。以持續研究的未來城市主義理念、項目案例及國家及國際綜合指引分析重探後疫情時代公共空間與城市建築和社區的關係。
