2022 AAM

Course Background:

Architect is already well recognized in the construction field. Whereas for Quantity Surveyor (QS) though not new in the industry, is often as interpret literally regard as a surveyor or working on quantity only. Does this mean that QS can be omitted as the industry already got Architect?

Through this seminar, we would like to introduce the duties and roles of QS, so that let the leader of the construction project – Architect, familiar with us. Indeed, QS involved can be as early as project feasibility stage to work with Architect to maximize the value for money of the client.

QS development seems quite new in Macau, but according to the introduction of QS services by Macau Government since early 2020 to its projects, QS has been invited through tendering to assist the Architect, before project tendering out, it is believed QS services have gradually drawn the attention of Macau construction industry.

Further, by means of some case studies (including HK and locally in Macau) to elaborate the works that QS carried out and show the close working relationship between Architect and QS, in order to achieve the ultimate common goal of what client's need – the project as desired under the best value.
