Background:

In recent years, influenced by factors such as information technology, artificial intelligence, and interdisciplinary integration, contemporary construction engineering design and application technology are undergoing fundamental changes. In contemporary construction engineering, changes in design and application technology are rapidly affecting the industry future. These changes not only bring about innovation, but also present new challenges that merit in-depth exploration. With the advancement of science and technology, the concepts and methods of architectural design are also constantly evolving. From traditional design methods to modern digital modeling, these changes promote design flexibility and efficiency. Digital technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling) have become the core tools of current construction projects. These technologies not only increase design accuracy but also facilitate collaboration and communication. As environmental awareness increases, the rise of sustainable architecture is becoming a trend. This includes the use of renewable materials and energy-saving technologies to reduce environmental impact and improve the building's efficiency. At the same time, developments in smart building technology enable buildings to automatically adjust their environment and safety systems. The application of these technologies not only enhances the comfort of living but also boosts energy efficiency. At the same time, advancements in science, technology, and building materials have led to the emergence of new materials, such as self-healing concrete and lightweight materials, which are transforming the structure and durability of buildings. These innovative materials not only increase the life of the building but also reduce maintenance costs.


Although changes in contemporary construction engineering design and application technology have brought many innovations, contemporary architecture still faces various challenges and risks, including rapid changes in technology, resource shortages, and compliance issues. These require professionals in the industry to address them. Globalization has presented the construction industry with new opportunities and challenges. International cooperation promotes technological exchanges, but it also brings impacts on local culture and environment, which need to be handled with caution. In the future, construction projects will continue to develop towards intelligence and sustainability. With the advancement of science and technology, new design concepts and construction methods will continue to emerge, promoting innovation in the industry. This seminar will explore excellent international cases, including Satoshi Ohashi, architect at Zaha Hadid Architects, will discuss their company's innovations and challenges in recent projects, such as the Prague Central Business District in the Czech Republic and Navi Mumbai International Airport in India. Through these case analyses, we will gain a deeper understanding of the successful practices and lessons of contemporary architectural design. The changes in contemporary construction engineering design and application technology are full of innovations and challenges. Facing the future, we need to continue to explore new technologies and methods to cope with changing market demands and environmental challenges.


To exchange and learn from domestic and international experiences in contemporary construction engineering design and application technology, explore future design trends, and strengthen industry exchanges and cooperation, we will hold the 'Changes in Contemporary Construction Engineering Design and Application Technology: International Symposium on Innovation and Challenges' in Macau on January 10, 2025. This seminar will focus on the best practice cases in architecture, engineering and other majors, and exchange and discuss their global design trends, design strategies, design methods and principles. The organizer will invite several domestic and international experts with practical experience to serve as guest speakers and conduct in-depth analyses based on exemplary cases from various regions and scales. It is hoped that this seminar will help promote exchanges and cooperation between relevant parties and improve the overall level of contemporary construction engineering design and application technology.
