Announced in 2020, China aims to reach Peak Emissions before 2030 and Carbon Neutrality by 2060. This presentation discusses the interrelationship between carbon, planning and architecture by focusing on the design and operation of zero-energy buildings (ZEB). Allegedly, ZEB has emerged as an architectural and engineering integrated solution for meeting the long-term carbon-neutrality goal of the nations. The Presenter have brought in exemplary cases to reflect on the 'carbon' challenges for architectural design, and building-in-use by means of real-life experience. Henceforth, it is envisaged that designers are confident to face carbon challenge for architecture and construction in the era of post-anthropocence.
